A crucial part of our work as clinicians is keeping appropriate records. Note Designer was created in 2013 by two psychologists who wanted a better way to generate therapy notes. It is a simple, intuitive, but effective program with which you build your progress note by selecting from over three hundred phrases - or you can design your own set of phrases. The program automatically combines your choices into a note with your personalized signature line at the bottom. Print your note immediately or store it temporarily - on your own computer, never over the internet - until a printer is available. Or you can copy the note into a word processor or program of your choice. You can learn more about the features or watch a video demonstration below.
Or and give it a try. (We follow an unconditional 30-day refund policy for all software and apps: If it turns out to be not quite what you are looking for, let us know and we will refund your payment promptly.).
TherapyNotes is a cloud-based mental/behavioral health software system that includes electronic health records (EHR), a patient portal, patient scheduling and medical billing. The solution is suitable for practices of all sizes, including those with multiple locations or with providers who need access outside the office. TherapyNotes provides access to several types of specialty note templates for various types of medical practices such as psychotherapy, psychiatry and behavioral health.
Using TherapyNotes, medical professionals can create and customize treatment plans, progress notes, psychological evaluations, termination notes and more. The solution also includes a billing module, which gives providers the ability to create statements and billing reports. The credit card processing module lets users enter/swipe cards directly into the system and save card information for future transactions. Users can create recurring appointments, set staff work schedules and send appointment reminders to the patients directly from the system.
TherapyNotes is an HIPAA-certified application and complies with PCI standards for data security. All data is stored in a fully encrypted SAS 70 Type II certified data centers. So Far So Good We recently had an audit and it did not go so well. This was the primary reason for switching to a new platform. With TherapyNotes we are not able to submit our sessions until the Progress Note is completed and signed. There are multiple required fields in the Progress Note which provide the required information that we are contractually required to provide on each note. The next audit should go much better.
Pros So we just started using Therapy Notes a month ago and needed to transfer patient/clients for 45 clinicians. Throughout the process, the Customer Support Team has been very responsive and helpful. So far, I have found TherapyNotes to be very easy to use. Cons Doesn't integrate with any ePrescription platforms and does not have an API to allow the exchange of data.
Great for Private Practice Pros This is a wonderful software for private practice clinicians of all types. I did a lot of browsing of different documentation software before landing on therapynotes.com The software is very easy to use and helps me stay up to date and compliant with my clients. An added bonus is that it is visually appealing as well. Cons I think the cost of this software-especially if you want to include billing is the only downside. For larger companies, it's not so much an issue but for those in small private practice the cost can sometimes be out of budget. Easy to learn and use, many great features and fantastic customer service.
Best Psychotherapy Notes Software
I love that I can use one system for notes, plans, documents, upload, download, billing, accounting features, and I am even considering switching to also use TN for billing insurance eventually. Also love the very helpful and fast customer service and that they email. Pros Easy to learn and use, many great features, and fantastic customer service.
So many people have recommended TN to me and what sold me was hearing about the ability to approve and co-sign notes, that their customer service is great, and the different roles and multi-roles available. All the prompts are helpful too and are subtle rather than annoying like some other programs might be. Very organized, clear, with great direction and easy on the eyes. It was easy to teach myself how to use it, and I would not even call it 'teaching' because they design it to feel intuitive and give guidance not only as you go, but also in a designated 'to do' area so that it is easy to manage and you can take your time.
Cons Would like there to be fillable forms we can customize for clients that are browser based, like IntakeQ for example or SP. Amazing program for mental health professionals Pros I loved how it's everything in one program. You're able to your scheduling, notes and billing, as well as allowing clients to get into their own portal through here. Cons While I enjoy this software, the fact that it's online-based will always have that risk of being hacked into, even if there are security measures in place. Considering the sensitive and classified information being on this program and the HIPPA laws, it's something that will always give me some discomfort. Clean and simple I enjoy working with TherapyNotes.com because it lets me commmunicate more directly with my supervisors and my clients. I could see myself one day using this program exclusively for billing and scheduling if I was working independently.
Security measures are tight and have had no problems so far. Pros The user interface is so much cleaner than other outdated programs I've used at other practices. Finding every menu page is intuitive and the load times are fast.
I also like that clients can submit requests and questions through this app directly and securely to the clinician instead of having to go through voice messages or email. Cons It's taken a little time to get used to and since there are so many programs included with it, it's difficult to sync it with outside programs. Some repetitiveness happens there. Great Service!
So far I am just setting it up. But all the set up is intuitive and has been successful! Pros After comparing different therapy billing services, I chose TherapyNotes. I was impressed with the ease of set up for billing codes, clients and billing, esepecially billing. I also support the theraapy note that was generated by TherapyNotes - connected to treaatment plan, pertinent areas to check off and then a place to write an other pros desired. Very easy, simple and streamlined process!
Cons I haven't encountered any area that I would label as liking least. Costumer service I do love TherapyNotes, because they are so efficient, professional, and most of all patience with their costumers. I already referred them to two of my friends who are just starting their own private practices. Pros So easy to follow, template are very easy love the notes, MHA, billing tabs, submitting claims easy, LOVE the reminders about making your notes, closing files, TP, LOVE IT LOVE IT. You guys are amazing!!! Cons There is nothing I do not like about therapy notes they the software is great easy to follow.
Great software but a little bit out of the budget Pros Therapy notes is a very intuitive EMR system.it's the first one that I had come into contact that really seem to have a user first interface. As far as I can tell, it's mostly for behavioral health which was really great considering I didn't have to sift through hundreds of other functions that are specific to a more specifically medical office. Cons Everything worked really well and gave me a great new experience with EMRs. In the end it just the cost that was a little bit much. Great Support Staff TN was easy to implement and immediately gave the clinicians EHR and online access to their calendar. Pros The support for Therapy Notes is tremendous.
You can always get someone on the phone to answer your questions. If they need to they will research the answers to make sure you get a correct answer. One can ask follow-u questions and the staff will continue to work with you until you understand the issue. Cons The fact that the billing process is tied to the signed clinician clinical notes.
There is no way to link services to a clinician if they include overpayments you can not easily tell which clinician should get the money.
